I learned a lot of hard truths about myself, some I am comfortable saying out loud. Some not very much. Regardless, it was like a mirror being held to my face and having to look back at my own reflection.

Another big thing that we worked on and helped me is not focusing on the flaws whenever that mirror is held up. I learned that some of the things I nitpick about myself are actually not my fault and not mine to fix. That was a powerful realization.
